MEP Engineering

When architecture, structure, and MEP are handled by separate firms, coordination conflicts are inevitable — ductwork that runs through a structural beam, electrical panels in the wrong location, plumbing that conflicts with the foundation. These conflicts get caught at the worst possible time: during construction or plan review. Because Pineland Engineering handles all three disciplines in-house, we catch and resolve conflicts during design — before they cost you time and money in the field.

Our mechanical engineering scope includes HVAC system design, load calculations per ACCA Manual J and S, duct layout, equipment selection, and energy code compliance documentation. For Florida coastal projects, we specify corrosion-resistant equipment and design for the humidity and salt air conditions that shorten equipment life when not properly addressed. We produce mechanical drawings that satisfy Florida Building Code requirements and coordinate with the architectural and structural drawings in your permit set.

Electrical engineering services include service entrance design, panel schedules, circuit layouts, lighting design, and special systems coordination. We design to the National Electrical Code (NEC) as adopted by Florida, and coordinate with the mechanical and plumbing drawings to ensure panel locations and conduit routing are buildable. For commercial projects, we also provide emergency power design, exit and egress lighting, and fire alarm system coordination.

Plumbing engineering includes domestic water distribution, sanitary drain-waste-vent systems, fixture unit calculations, and coordination with the local utility connection requirements. For coastal projects, we design for the elevated foundation conditions common in flood zones — routing plumbing through elevated floors and coordinating with the structural system. We produce plumbing drawings that satisfy the Florida Plumbing Code and coordinate with the architectural floor plans and structural drawings.
